David studied Fine Art at Bristol. His paintings are about colour, surface and pattern. Inspiration for his painting comes from the urban and rural landscape. Recent work is abstract and geometric but the ideas for the paintings start off from sketchbook drawings.

David's recent abstract acrylic paintings are concerned with the proportional arrangement of colour, intersecting rectangles and squares provide formats to explore colour compositions. This formal approach however feeds off earlier interests in the figure and landscape.
