Hilary works in local wood like yew, box, walnut or cherry. Her subjects are people or animals around her. She keeps a look out for interesting shapes to come together with ideas for her sculptures.
The stoneware pottery is mostly functional. The glazes are combined with wood ash; different glazes are mixed on the pots, or animals and plants are painted on the mugs, bowls, jugs, teapots etc., or lettering for events like weddings.
