Since graduating from Hertfordshire College of Art and Design, John Perkin has exhibited widely in Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Hampshire and London. The pictures have a wide range of subject matter. They are essentially figurative involving people and places. Abstraction is employed, where relevant, to suggest movement, to direct attention or to suggest unity by indicating the presence of objects in the background through those in the foreground which would normally obscure them.
