I paint and draw from everyday life experiences in an impressionistic style. I am particularly inspired by the play of light, the colours and the movement in a scene. I especially enjoy painting people and seeing them come to life. A recent trip to Nice, in the south of France, has inspired some of my latest work.

I like to capture the spontaneity of the scenes, in pencil or watercolour and sepia crayon sketches, and then use these in my studio to develop larger scale paintings.
