Mavina`s work is predominantly figurative, and her focus is drawing from life. Concentrating on printmaking she produces monoprints, linocuts, and drypoints. All hand produced printmaking is original and individual, none more so than monoprints, which is Mavina`s preferred method of working. This technique can be spontaneous and full of surprises, and monoprint, as the name suggests, is a one of creation and cannot be repeated. It's a hybrid, combining printmaking with painting.
