The Panto Project: Beauty and the Beast
Corn Exchange, Newbury

Now in the fourth year, The Panto Project culminates in a free exhibition of art work supporting this year's pantomime, Beauty and the Beast. The exhibition is created by eight selected West Berkshire school children who bring to The Corn Exchange their different views on the fairytale. Creating large scale mural work and an installation that dominates the staircase - expect the unexpected as this year's theme is "opposites".

Join Beauty and the Beast on a magical journey of love, greed and passion. Set in a mythical French village, this year's pantomime includes all the ingredients for an extra special Christmas, with humour, music and dance in abundance. Boo at the evil wizard Scaramouche, laugh out loud with the silly servants Baguette and Croissant, and hope for a happy ending...

Honk!The Watermill Theatre presents:
Honk!
Watermill Theatre, Bagnor, Newbury

Have you ever had the feeling that you go "Honk!" when everyone else goes "Quack!"? From the moment his egg cracks open the Ugly Duckling knows there is something different about him. This hilarious musical comedy follows Ugly's adventures as he is lured away from his bullying siblings in the barnyard by an ever-hungry Cat. Having survived the feline's culinary intentions, the hapless duckling sets out on a mission to find his way home and on the way meets an eccentiric squadron of Geese, a domesticated Chicken, an ebullient Bullfrog, and a beautiful young Swan before he is finally happily reunited with his family.

Since it first hatched at The Watermill Theatre in 1993, George Stiles and Anthony Drewe's musical Honk! has winged it's way around the world in over 2,500 productions and in many different languages, winning multiple awards on it's way, including the 2000 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical. Now the show returns to Bagnor with the original director and designer on board in an all-new actor musician version.

"Imagine the colour and wit of Disney's Jungle Book, mixed with the vivacity of '40's Hollywood musicals, exuberantly staged, and you still only have some idea of how stonkingly brilliant this Christmas treat is" Time Out
