 The Corn Exchange presents:
Square Map of Q4
Bonachela Dance
Corn Exchange, Newbury
Raphael Bonachela's choreography has a powerful muscularity combined with an acute emotional sensitivity. For this new work Bonachela will juxtapose this intense physicality with hi tech imagery to explore how memories shape our humanity. Along with a stunning international cast of dancers, he has drawn together a broad range of collaborators including composer Marius de Vries, whose work spans Bjork and Moulin Rouge; designer Alan Macdonald whose film career ranges from Love is the Devil to The Queen.

 The Corn Exchange presents:
Just Like a Woman
Barb Jungr sings Nina Simone
Corn Exchange, Newbury
Singing songs associated with her heroine, Nina Simone, Barb Jungr makes them her own, drawing subtle qualities from the lyrics and as always making their message utterly contemporary. Her life-enhancing, enchanting, passionate and very funny performances, known to audiences through her shows 'Girl Talk' and her interpretations of Bob Dylan's songs have brought comparisons to Piaf, Peggy Lee and Nina Simone herself - but Jungr is unique, don't miss it!

Newbury YoungStars presents:
Captain Hook's Revenge
Arlington Arts Centre, Mary Hare, Newbury
It's Peter Pan but not quite as you know it as the well known tale takes on a pantomime twist. We are off to Neverland where Captain Hook is plotting his revenge with the help of a crocodile and a poisoned cake.
There are all the usual characters plus some rats and Dotty Darling the Dame to spice things up a bit. This funny adaptation promises to be a great trip out for the family; you'll be humming the tunes for days.

 The Watermill presents:
Merrily we roll along
The Watermill Theatre, Bagnor, Newbury
Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim Book by George Furth
Direction and Musical Staging by John Doyle
Musical Supervisor and Musical Arrangements
by Cathy Jayes
Designed by Liz Ascroft
Sound Designed by Gary Dixon
On a roof top in West Side, Manhattan, three friends watch as Sputnik flashes across the sky heralding the dawn of a new era. With all the idealism and exuberance of youth, they look forward to a promising future - “Our Time”.
Twenty five years later life and frustrated ambition have taken their toll. In Bel Air, California, Charley, Frank and Mary reflect on their life journey and the changing face of friendship. As the cynicism of middle age is stripped away, they remember how things used to be: “Our dreams coming true, Me and you, pal, Me and you!”
"It is almost 2 years since Jill Fraser asked me if I would do one more musical at The Watermill. I promised I would. Much has changed, of course, but I wanted to keep my promise. I thought long and hard about a musical that would reflect all Jill may have wanted to say and how it could be said. So, with the blessing of writers Sondheim and Furth, this poignant and funny musical, is coming to The Watermill.”
