 The Corn Exchange presents:
An Audience with Denis Norden
Corn Exchange, Newbury
Even without his clipboard, Denis Norden is instantly recognisable as one of television’s most enduring personalities. Readers who have said goodbye to 50 will know that Denis Norden’s career stretches back more than half a century to the golden age of radio and the pioneering years of television comedy.
With the late Frank Muir, he created the long-running Take It From Here for the wireless - as he still prefers to call it - in 1947. This was followed by one of the first TV sitcoms, Whack-O!, which starred Jimmy Edwards as a whisky-swigging, cane-wielding headmaster and notched up eight series.

Another Opening, Another Show
St. John’s Hall, Mortimer
Mortimer Dramatic Society hosts more of its popular Supper Evenings.
The director, Judy Winter, has put together a bright and pleasant evening of popular music and amusing sketches to accompany a sumptuously catered meal.
With selections from some hit contemporary West End and Broadway shows and some classic favourites from composers such as Irvine Berlin and Cole Porter, musically there is surely something for everybody.

 The Corn Exchange presents:
Sean Hughes: What I Meant To Say Was...
Corn Exchange, Newbury
The youngest comic ever to win the Perrier award (for his Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in 1990) Sean Hughes is back with a brand new show, bursting at the seams with the darkly brilliant, self-deprecating barbed wit that has kept him at the top of his game ever since.
The star of The Last Detective (ITV), Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC) and Sean’s Show (Channel 4) whose dark, explosive style and quick-fire audience banter have made him a household name.
