10:30am/1:30pm
The ForestThe Corn Exchange presents:
The Forest
Corn Exchange, Newbury

Presented by Fevered Sleep and Fuel
Directed by David Harradine and Sam Butler

A beautiful and unique show, where the Corn Exchange becomes a forest, combining dance, images, sound and light. The company that created Brilliant and And the Rain Falls Down invites you to a surprising new performance, that will take you somewhere unlike anywhere you’ve ever been…

There is a place at the very heart of the forest, a place where things are not quite what they seem. People become animals, birds become music, wood becomes water and leaves become light. Everything changes (can you hear it?), everything moves (can you see it?). It’s all around you. It’s full of adventure. It’s the forest.

"Fevered Sleep offers a lesson in how companies creating work for the very young are producing some truly sensational theatre" - The Guardian

Age Guide: 5–7

Commissioned by Lyric, Hammersmith; Developed at Sadler’s Wells and Young Vic and supported by Corn Exchange, Newbury through the Evolve programme.

Nell BrydenNew Greenham Arts presents:
Nell Bryden
New Greenham Arts, Newbury

Nell Bryden sings from the heart and shoots from the hip. The blonde bombshell from Brooklyn has the urban lifestyle in her blood, the country/folk spirit of Americana in her soul, and the great American songbook in her head.

Bryden is fast becoming one of the most talked about new artists, became Named Best Unsigned Artist of 2008 on Hits Daily Double, and her debut single What Does It Take not only earned her the coveted BBC R2 A List but also secured her a Top 40 place in the Official Irish Charts.

"An album of jazz torch singer style, and Patsy Cline heartache. Her vocal versatility is supported by consummate songwriting skills - think of a female Nick Lowe with a better voice" - Uncut
